New test result: effective against mycobacteria!
We are pleased to announce that Endurocide® Antimicrobial & Sporicidal Curtains have passed International Fabric Standard CG 147 against Mycobacteria tuberculosis.
CG 147 is an assessment of antimicrobial finishes on textile materials. A sample of the treated fabric is placed on an agar plate which has been "infected" by a pathogen. To pass, after 24 hours the fabric must show no growth under the fabric and present a "Zone of Inhibition" around the fabric sample.
Endurocide® Antimicrobial & Sporicidal Curtains showed no growth and provided a 2.5mm Zone of Inhibition.
Mycobacteria are a genus of Actinobacteria, with nearly 200 species identified. Certain types of Mycobacteria are pathogens known to cause diseases including tuberculosis (Mycobacterium tuberculosis) and leprosy (Mycobacterium leprae). Mycobacteria are notoriously difficult to kill, due to a particularly thick cell wall - thicker than other bacteria - which many disinfectants are unable to pierce.
